Dimitri (Demeter) H. Chiparus, Romanian, 1886-1947. Art Deco gilt bronze and cold painted sculpture of a young girl treating the wound of an injured dog and raised on an octagonal marble plinth, signed to the figure D. H. Chiparus . The long lean appearance of the sleek animal, female figure and slim fingers are with such detail that you can clearly make out each individual fingernail and adept in the technique of chryselephantine. Titled on front of marble base "Accident de Chasse" English translation "Hunting Accident". Measures 12 ½" height x
